Responsibilities

Operations & Growth: Act as the expert for operations and marketing teams. You’ll develop comprehensive launch plans, including user education materials and promotional campaigns, to ensure successful product adoption. You will leverage data to identify growth opportunities and optimize product performance.
Product Design & Execution: You’ll translate user needs into detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and work with our product team to ensure our derivative products are competitive and operate within acceptable risk parameters.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the key interface, ensuring seamless communication and execution between Operations, Marketing, Business Development, Quant, Risk, and Customer Service to deliver a world-class user experience.
Product Planning & Strategy: Own the end-to-end product roadmap for derivatives products. Conduct in-depth research on crypto market trends and competitor movements to identify new product opportunities and set a winning go-to-market strategy.

Requirements

Experience: minimum 5 years in product operations, preferably in derivative products such as perpetual contracts, copy trading, trading bot etc. Experience with cryptocurrencies, traditional exchange, structured product, and derivatives is highly preferred. We give priority to candidates who have designed or led successful products from 0 to 1 in the crypto or fintech space.
Attributes: You have an outcome-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership for business growth and product revenue. You are a fast learner, able to adapt quickly to the rapid pace of the cryptocurrency industry. You possess a strong ability to translate user needs into innovative product solutions.
Skills: A strong passion for and understanding of financial markets. You must be comfortable with the core concepts of interest rates and volatility, and be able to apply them to crypto assets. You’re highly analytical and skilled in using tools like SQL and Excel to drive data-driven decisions. You should have outstanding communication and project management skills.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities:

A minimum of 7+ years of FPGA design experience in wireless or high-speed systems
Experience in cellular radio, RAN, 5G, 4G, LTE development
Experience with NR/LTE/eCPRI, CPRI, PTP protocols
Familiarity with JESD204B/C, Ethernet, PCIe, AXI and high-speed SERDES
Modern FPGA development and tools experience across logic design, synthesis, PnR and timing closure.
Experience working with DSP algorithms and designs in MatLab/SimuLink and implementing them at high speed RTL in FPGA preferred.
Experience with high-speed FPGA design flow using Quartus, Vivado, MATLAB/Simulink, HDL Coder
Experience in a lab environment, troubleshooting issues up to the system level.
Block and chip level verification experience required, UVM experience preferred
Experience with Git-based version control workflows
Track record as a self-starter, a team player and a leader.

Compensation:
$130,000 to $180,000 plus company bonus and benefits plan.

This role is explicitly product-focused. You will not be pulled into client delivery. We’re looking for a security manager passionate about enabling the business as a security partner to lead a team of Product Security engineers.

You will manage a team of product security engineers dedicated to enabling DigitalOcean to build secure-by-design products, reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Security. Your primary mission is to empower this team to succeed – ensuring they have the strategy, support, and cross-functional relationships necessary to solve complex security problems at scale.

You will partner with product and engineering leadership to assess risk, scale security impact via automation, and foster a culture where security is a paved path for developer success. We leverage strong relationships with both product teams and the rest of security engineering to be successful. Our scope is primarily focused on reviewing early-stage decisions, helping develop threat models, scaling impact via automation, curating security patterns, authoring security guidance, training, and championing security initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and grow the team

You will manage, mentor, and hire for an expanding team of 5+ security engineers.

You will support team members’ career growth, manage performance, ensure the team maintains a high bar for technical empathy and execution, and focus on coaching them to be effective security partners, not just technical auditors.

Scale secure design

While your team conducts the threat modeling and design reviews, your role is to clear the path for them to do so efficiently.

You will actively engage in the review process to ensure a high bar of technical rigor and consistency across the team.

You will identify bottlenecks in the engagement process and drive the strategy to scale impact via automation and process improvement.

Build bridges, not walls

You will cultivate strong relationships with product management and engineering leadership.

You will ensure your team is viewed as empathetic partners who help engineers make informed decisions, rather than adversaries who list problems.

Foster a security culture

You will support your team in championing security initiatives (such as internal CTFs and training) that raise the bar for the entire organization.

Strategic prioritization

You will help your team navigate the trade-offs between functional product goals and security requirements.

You will protect their time by prioritizing high-impact work over low-risk noise.

What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:

Experienced management

You have 2+ years of experience leading a team of security engineers.

You are comfortable stepping into a role with 3-5 direct reports and have a track record of elevating senior talent and keeping them engaged and unblocked.

Servant leadership

You measure your own success by the success of your team.

You have a track record of defining clear priorities to reduce context switching, clearing operational paths so your engineers can focus on technical execution, and ensuring they receive visibility and credit for their work.

Technical context

You possess a deep background in Product Security, Application Security, or Secure Architecture.

You lead with technical credibility, having the ability to deep-dive into threat modeling architectural discussions and provide meaningful feedback on complex security problems.

DigitalOcean teams primarily build “under the cloud” (i.e. in data centers) providing the building blocks that operate a cloud product for our customers. You should be able to translate security expectations for cloud customers into underlying principles that must be embedded inside our product architectures and designs to ensure our products are safe for our customers, our business, and for the wider Internet.

Empathy & communication

You translate complex security risks (e.g. RetBleed, React2Shell) into business context for leadership, and you teach your team to communicate with empathy.
